Time for a Positive Break!

Time for a Positive Break!

I read a lovely email on the power of positive thinking this week and wanted to share a few take-aways I'd gotten from the post. It's always important, I think, to self-evaluate and make sure we are focusing on the positive, and creating that strong "law of attraction" in our professional, and personal behaviors and habits.

I loved this quote: “We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are.” Anais Nin

Wow, thinking back to different phases of my life, I'm saying, "Oh, man, that is so true."

In simplist form, I can translate that to how I react to an email, a person, the traffic, an event...simply when I am over hungry. And then, a short meal later....everything seems so much better!

“We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are.” (Or, in other words...you won't like me if I'm hANGRY!"

The post went on to remind us that negativity, and the hanging onto it, can hold us back from living the lives we really want. Phew - that ole' perspective again, right? Is that glass half full, half empty, or simply just the amount you need to drink right now to stay hydrated!

Life is what it is!!

Time for a Positive Break!

The email was lengthy and I won't repeat it all in this blog posting. But, if you struggle with balance and attitude, or even if you just want the reminders - there are lots of great articles online that can help you to keep your positive focus. The last thing we want is to become stuck in our own heads, and farther and farther from a productive reality.

Self talk can be a real downer, or a real motivation.

In the end, I believe positivity is a choice!

There was an interesting story focusing on Facebook this week as well that ties in. A teacher deliberately made a mathmatical mistake on the chalkboard as he wrote up ten equations on the board. The class was giggling and making fun of him as he turned around.  The teacher went on to share the real lesson.  The real lesson was...the world and public and even ourselves will focus on that one wrong thing, instead of congratulating you on the 9 other things you got right.

Whoa...so what's your focus going to be on going forward from here?

If you're thinking like I'm thinking, it's always good for a little "positive" reinforcement break.

Have a fantastic weekend.
