Hey! Those are Flowers Blooming in the Midst of My Crises!

Hey!  Those are Flowers Blooming in the Midst of My Crises!

Let's face it - in most places in the USA, winter is, well -- CHILL.  Howling winds, racing sleet, blankets of snow, freezing temps.  Brrrrrrr, I shudder just thinking of it.

But then a funny thing happens.  And, it ALWAYS happens.

Spring.

blooming prickly pear in Tucson

One morning we are suddenly met with the tiny blooming crocus, the cheerful daffodil, the bouncy tulip.  These vibrant harbingers of spring put color in our drab environment and inspire a smile or two for the day.

I'm sure you know what I mean.  Take a look at a couple of these examples.  And then, admit it, I bet you have a smile on your face.

What a Couple of Warm Days Can Do

Wordless Wednesday - Potomac Overlook Park in Bloom

Yea! Spring Flowers in My Yard for Easter!

I like to use the analogy of spring flowers vs. winter in my own business and my attitude towards life in general.

No matter how tough the winter - spring always comes!

A bloom, or a smile, can brighten the dullest day!

Richard Alan Naggar leaves a thought in his book, Pearls for the Soul, and I share it with you.

"There are moments in most days when I feel a deep and sincere gratitude, when I sit at the open window and there is a blue sky..."

Yes, the real estate market is challenging.  I read the heartbreaking stories of lost jobs, war, illness, accident, tornadoes, earthquakes - and my heart trembles.  It's overwhelmingly sad, and I stared at a white computer screen a long time this morning alone, just reading the news.

But here's the thing.  I sent off a note to one of our AR members living in Alabama.  I'm calling a dear friend fighting cancer today.  I'm going to go out and show a house, and hopefully write a contract this afternoon.

Light and dark, good and bad, happy and sad.  They co-exist the world over. Are we going to focus on the stormy skies, or the blooming flowers?
