Hiking on Linda Vista Trail in Oro Valley, AZ
This weekend my husband and I took an enjoyable hike up into the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains, under Pusch Ridge.
I love the views.
Here's a map so you know your way around.
Take plenty of water, a few snacks, and a camera!
Don't forget to watch for venomous creatures like rattle snakes and gila monsters. We found several of these colorful little lizards, brave enough to pose for camera shots.
They are common in this area, and are called the Crotaphytus collaris or eastern collared lizard.
And becoming ever more common, the very unpredictable male two-legged lizard, of the scientifically named variety known as the Pachyda-cellphone-ii.
I found the higher I went the more often I stopped to photograph just about anything so I could take a pause.
I love looking down as much as I love looking up.
Looking up, this boulder was a big as a 1 bedroom house and followed a natural wash area:
One last shot - the mountains in the distance are the Tucson Mountains often photographed in my blogs about Continental Ranch and Continental Reserve - Sombrero Peak.
