Backup, understudy, cover, emergency contact - I don't care what you call me. I'm happy to assist my fellow agents from Tierra Antigua Realty and will take care of your clients as if they were my own.
I'm honored when folks I've helped out in the past call to see if I can assist during their vacations, or maybe take a short sale/bank owned transaction they don't feel comfortable with, or meet with a new client that only has a few hours free in a whirlwind interview/visit to Tucson. I love inter-company referrals, in fact they were my bread and butter last year.
I guess the number one reason why I will share my time is because I believe in Karma. I believe in the Golden Rule. Deep down inside I hope that because I try to be good, others will be good to me as well.
I know it works with holding doors open for others, or letting cars cut in front during traffic. Good begets good. Call it an ulterior motive, but I like to try to do good.
I like to be good to my competitors as well. Joint open house area events, New construction galas, broker tours through town, etc. I think being good to my competitors is being good to my clients. It's in their best interest.
The number two reason is because I'm only full time two years (of 6 years total) now. I'm still sort of a newbie and my prospecting style doesn't include cold calls and door knocking. I'm being true to my personality style and contracting lasting, regular business through networking, social media, working my SOI, newsletters and more. (That's another blog) In other words, my prospecting style is working for me.
Number three - I'm back to my number one reason again. Somewhere, somehow, some DAY there's going to be another me out there, offering to carefully nurture MY clients and MY leads when I cannot take them, or am flying off for a Hawaiian cruise.
