TIPS for a GREENer Spring - A GREENer Lifestyle

Everything is turning GREEN!!!

 Green Tips for Green Living

With the advent of spring, everything is turning GREEN, GREEN, GREEN and I came across a reminder that we should make all attempts to go GREEN inside of our homes and with our daily practices as well.

With a little conscious thought, we can make a difference in our daily choices and habits.

Green Tips for Green Living

Buy local!  Visit farmers' markets!

Have you tried vinegar or lemon juice or baking soda in your cleaning routines?

Grow live plants in your home - they freshen the air.

Have a recycle receptacle in your home?  If you don't have a weekly pick up service, there are generally recycle centers scattered throughout the county or nearby city.  Buy recycled products??

Do you compost?

We recently purchased a small, portable "evap cooler" to use in our bedroom at night for sleeping (it's our hottest room in the house) instead of lowering the whole house thermostat.

Replace those air filters!

Read your newspapers and magazines online instead of in paper version. Pay your bills online instead of snail mail.

Have reusable grocery bags instead of plastic ones?  How about reusable water bottles and coffee cups?  Reusable lunch containers for work?

Except for your whitest whites, do you wash your clothes in cold water?

Turn off the water faucet while you are actually brushing your teeth or shaving instead of leaving it running.

And then, we can also get technical with our GREENing.  Recycle electronics, cell phones,  CFL bulbs, computers....

Talk GREEN at the water cooler.  It's contagious.  Let's all be a little GREENer this spring!
