Life is HOT in Sunny Tucson - Bring your Shades!

Thinking of moving to Tucson, AZ but worried about weather in the SWDesert?

Personally speaking,  I'll take our high temps over hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunamis, earthquakes and the like.

We do get our own Desert 'brand' of weather, however, so with full disclosure, I'll include a couple of links.

Here's an idea of what monsoon rain is, versus a summer rainstorm.  Great photo collection online!

Tucson Weather and Summer 100 degree days

Ever hear of a haboob?  Ever try to drive in one?  Think "Hidalgo" and you're close:  Haboobs in Arizona

What I see doing the most damage to property, trees, and affecting driving safety are the Micro bursts.  It's like a giant dumping a pail of water onto the earth, and whoosh....

Tucson Weather and Summer 100 degree days

But down to some serious numbers regarding the summer sun, there was a record in 1994 where Tucson had 99 days where the temperature either reached, or surpassed 100 degrees.  According to the National Weather Service records of 2014, we typically "enjoy" a average of only 62 days with those burning temps.

When does that hot weather start?  Well, four days that Tucson officially hit 100 degrees in the past were the 19, 22, 27 and 30th of April.

The average start date for 100-degree temperatures in Tucson is May 26.

Here's some typical averages for the month for life in Tucson - notice the balmy winter months!  And overall average ... not so scary afterall!

Personally, I love waking up to a sunny day 300 times a year.  :)  Want to know more about Tucson?  Please contact me and I'm happy to help you relocate, find a home, and live happily ever after in sunny Tucson, AZ
