Thanks Gab, for posting this! This is a must-do for visitors to the Tucson, Marana, Oro Valley and Vail areas. Last weekend my car thermometer touched 107 already! Relief from the heat comes in the form of fun times on Mt. Lemmon. It's such a short drive - be sure to check out the awesome outdoor series that takes place each summer on Mt. Lemmon. It's worth the gas, believe me.
Starting today and then every Sunday until the Fall, the Music On Mt Lemmon outdoor series begins!
With temps already at 100 degrees here in Tucson, it takes less than 40 minutes to drive up to Mt Lemmon and enjoy cooler temps, the smell of pine trees and thanks to LavaMusic - outdoor music!
The series, today with Chuck Wagon and the Wheelchairs, features local acoustic acts in a festival type setting. Admission is free. The venue is under the big white tent at 12901 N. Sabino Canyon Parkway on Mount Lemmon at 11am!
Bring your own chairs and/or set up your tent just beyond the Summer Community Center in the heart of town. Open fire grills are ready for you to order up burgers, hot dogs and a side of chips with plenty of other refreshments for you to enjoy. You can walk down to get some Mt Lemmon fudge, cookies, pizza or even ride the ski lift and still hear the music as you stroll around!
Mt Lemmon has always been one of my favorite retreats, cycling and just getting out of the heat spots! I enjoy listening to the Sunday outdoor music right from my front porch and if you have some time and are looking for something to do - head up the hill and enjoy!
