You And I -- A Successful Real Estate Experience - It Takes a Team

It's my seven year blogging anniversary and I've been re-reading blogs of my first few months on ActiveRain.  It's interesting to re-visit, and some times re-write what caught my attention so many years ago.  

Today, I was catching up on Top Ten Signs that Tell It’s Time to Fire Your Realtor.  

It was written tongue in cheek, an entertainment piece with a message.

But I can't help reflecting on my 12 years as a REALTOR and the real disappointment some of my clients have gone through in past transactions.  As our clients, you have the right to receive FIDUCIARY duty from us.

If you feel you are not receiving the above, talk to your agent.  If that's a closed door, talk to their manager, their broker....  

You have rights as our clients.  

Working with a REALTOR

We should answer our phones.  We should communicate with you. If we've provided you with a business plan to sell your home, you should expect regular communication regarding that plan.

Feel free to check on us!  Are the photos well presented on-line, are our details correct?  Are we presenting your home in the best possible light? 

On the buyer's side - are we listening to you, providing you with homes you want to see, SHOWING you those homes. Are we sticking to your budget? 

Of course, all of this is a TEAM process.  As a seller, are you providing access, a well-lit and tidy interior, have you left the home during viewings?

As a buyer, are your expectations reasonable, have you looked at over 20 homes and nothing works, are you pre-qualified?

When I meet with my clients, communication is key.  Together, we can help you move on, achieve dreams, and work towards as stress-free a transaction as can be.  It takes a TEAM.

Yes, it's all a team effort. The buyer and us, the seller and us. Communication really is key in a successful relationship.
