Will Hamm wrote an interesting an motivational blog recently and one of the things he recommended was to "Ask Yourself uplifting questions each morning."
The one that really resonated with me was, "What am I happy about now?"
During the tumultuous year of 2020, focusing on the positive, and remaining so, sometimes took all of my willpower. I believe I worked harder this year on staying positive than any other time of my professional life.
Some of the actions I took included very quick, socially distant "pop-bys". Initially I often didn't even talk to folks, just texted them quick to let them know I'd stopped by. I dropped off cookies by a local bakery with happy messages. Flowers with little water bags in early Summer (Tucson can get hot) Cookies during the holidays, sent funny videos through Instant Messenger, and wrote hundreds of little note cards.
Why? Yes, I will admit it. I needed the positive affirmations that it gave me. The joy I received from touching base with folks, some extremely lonely, gave back a thousand-fold, and was worth every minute, every mile, every dollar.
I was working at my computer early this morning and realized I was sitting here with a smiling face, and thus, this posting was born.
What are YOU doing to stay positive this year and into 2021?
What am I happy about now? That I'm loving my job, and still working my job, and am thankful for the clients, friendships and connections that I have.

Good morning and Merry Christmas Cara Marcelle Mancuso thank you for the smile and the positive post!
What a blessing and an awesome blog. There is so much to be grateful for, the smallest things are now the big things. The fact that we made it this far is a testimony in itself. Wishing you a blessed and safe Merry Christmas.
Hi Cara - you made it (happiness) happen by your actions. Just wonderful. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Hi Cara I'm so happy you are happy now! What lovely little ways to show others that you care about them. I am positive it lifted their spirits more than you realize. I am almost always happy so it's been easier for me than others this year. Carol Williams and I hosted several AR contest to assist others with staying focused on the positive and that was awesome.
We do need to constantly think of what we are grateful for - that goes a long way towards feelings of happiness, no matter the external environment!
Happy New Year!
Good morning Cara Marcelle Mancuso - thank you for the uplifting thoughts and I am seeing many others today. This will be a good year.
I love this post, Cara. One of the best things we can do to uplift our own mood is through giving to others. You certainly walked the talk...Happy New Year!
I need only look at the lady sitting across the table from me with her coffee cup in hand. After that it's smooth sailing all the way for the support I get
I believe that we have to fight to be happy. Being happy is an act of positivity
Hi Cara:
I bet everyone appreciated your kindness and thoughts during this challenging year. Wishing you a joyful, prosperous and healthy 2021!
